A couple of days ago I watched a TED Talks video where Anthropologist, Helen Fisher speaks on why we love. She analyzes the factors that contribute to the large question, “Why do we fall in love with certain people over others?” She says that many factors play a role here, such as proximity, our environment, and the checklist of qualities that we have set out for someone else. But one factor that she said struck me above the others, which was mystery. Fisher says that you fall in love with someone who is mysterious because it increases the dopamine levels in ones brain, which in turn causes the feelings and the connection to love.

Last night, my sister and I began to talk of the creation of God, His masterpiece and how he has so intricately woven himself into all things and into us. The vastness and complexity of God is mind blowing and as we are sitting on the couch, in our pajamas, craving for a better understanding of God, thirsting for a deeper knowledge of how he has connected everything and everyone—it struck me.

Why are there things that we will never know about God and he will never reveal?

Why can we not fully understand God?

Why does God keep himself a mystery?

All for Loves Sake.

God has chemically wired us to love him and to be drawn to him. He knows exactly how our brains work so that we may love him, because he created us for that purpose! That we may love the Father and receive his love for us. God has kept himself a mystery, so that we may love him more, it’s scientifically proven!
